Ambadevi Temple
Shri Ambadevi Temple is situated in the Amravati city of Maharashtra.
The temple is dedicated to Goddess Ambadevi and lies right in the middle
of the city. Amba Devi Temple is so ancient that one cannot find even a
single mention of it in the old gazetteers.
Shri Ekvira Devi Temple
Shri Ekvira Devi Temple is situated in Amravati, near the famous
Ambadevi Temple. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Ekvira Devi and
dates back to the year 1660. It was constructed by the son of Amravati
Paramhans Shri Janardan Swami. The Goddess enshrined here is believed to
be an incarnation of the Shakti. Shri Ekvira Devi Temple witnesses huge
rush every year, during the Navaratri festival.
Satidham Temple
Satidham Temple is situated right in the middle of the Amravati city,
at Rallies Plot. The temple enshrines the idols of a several Gods and
their consorts, including Lord Krishna and Radha, Lord Ram and Sita and
Lord Shiva and Sati, along with Lord Ganesha. One of the major
attractions of the temple is the fair organized every year, on the
occasion of Janamashtami. A large number of devotees congregate here to
be a part of the festivities.
Shri Bhakti Dham Temple
Shri Bhakti Dham Temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna and His consort,
Radha. Also enshrined inside the temple is an idol of Shri Sant Jalaram
Bappa. It is situated on the Badnera Road in Amravati city. The temple,
with its small park, is also very popular amongst children.
Chatri Talao
Chatri Talao is a small reservoir that was built in the year 1888, with
the view to supply drinking water to the people of Amravati city. It is
situated on the Malkhed Railway Road, at a distance of one km from
Dasturnagar Square. It has been built on a small spring known as Kali
Nadi and is presently getting its share of water from the Upper Wardha
Dam. The small garden and boating facility provided here add to the
attraction of the talao.
Wadali Talao
Wadali Talao is another reservoir, built with the purpose of serving
the clean and fresh water needs of the Amaravati people. Situated on the
Chandur Railway Road, it is approximately 3 km away from the Amaravati
Camp. Adding to the appeal of the Talao are a small garden and a zoo, a
favorite amongst the kids of the city. Wadali Talao has become one of
the popular picnic spots around the city, where one can come on weekends
and relax a bit.
