Maharashtra
prides itself on being one of the most vibrant states in India. The
azure blue waters that splash across the splendid beaches of the state,
contrast beautifully with the lush greenery of its hill stations.
Further adding to the vibrancy of the state are its colorful fairs and
festivals. Apart from the usual festivals, celebrated throughout India,
there are a number of religious festivals that form a part of the
Maharashtrian culture only (like Gudi Padwa). On these festivals, most
of the organizations give holidays to their employees and such holidays
are known as public holidays. Then, there are three national holidays
that are celebrated in each and every corner of India. In this article,
we have provided a list of the national as well as public holidays in
Maharashtra.
