Day 1: Cochin
Upon arrival our representative will pick you up from the Airport /
Railway Station. Check in to your hotel and relax for a while before
going out for sightseeing trip of Cochin. The main attractions at Cochin
are the Cochin Fort, Mattancherry Palace, Spice Markets, Antique
Shopping, Jewish Synagogue, St Francis Basilica, Vasco Da Gama Square
and Chinese Fishing Nets. Return to the hotel in the evening. Stay
overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 Munnar
After breakfast proceed to Munnar, where sprawling tea plantations,
picture book towns, winding lanes and trekking make it a unique
experience. It was once the summer resort of the erstwhile British
Empire in south India. Check in to your resort and get ready for the
trip to Pothamedu for a superb view of the tea, coffee and cardamom
plantations in Munnar. The landscape is ideal for trekking. Return to
the resort in the evening and spend the night at resort.
Day 3 Munnar
After breakfast we will visit Mattupetty, famous for its highly
specialized dairy farm, the Indo-Swiss live stock project. Other nearby
attractions are the Mattupetty Lake and dam. You could enjoy boating at
the lake and also the beautiful landscape. You can also visit the Top
Station, which offers a magnificent view of the Munnar valley below.
Return to the resort and relax. Overnight will be at the resort.
Day 4 Periyar
After breakfast you will be driven to Periyar, nestled in spice and
rubber plantations. Periyar has a lot to offer in terms of natural
beauty and wildlife. Periyar is famous for its rare habitat of birds and
animals and is one of the most popular destinations for nature lovers.
Check in to your resort and get ready for your trip to cardamom hills
where you could have a closer look at the spice plantations. Spend rest
of the day at leisure. Overnight will be at the resort.
Day 5 Periyar
Have your breakfast and set out for a sightseeing tour (of the Periyar
sanctuary) by motorboat to watch the wild life. Other than wild
elephants, you may also site Tigers, Bison, Spotted deer, Gaur and other
animals. Periyar is the only sanctuary in India where you can have the
unique experience of viewing wildlife at close quarters from the safety
of a boat on the lake. Return back to your resort in the evening and
spend the night at the resort.
Day 6 Kumarakom
After breakfast, get ready for yet another fascinating destination as
we drive you to Kumarakom. Kumarakom is a cluster of little islands. A
picturesque, clean village, Kumarakom is a tiny hamlet on the banks of a
lagoon formed by the Vembanad Lake. Check in to your resort and relax
for a while. Enjoy the sunset cruise in the evening. Overnight will be
at the resort.
Day 7 Kumarakom
Have your breakfast and visit the bird sanctuary of Kumarakom to
explore a whole new world of bird life. For an inquisitive bird watcher
it is an ideal place that echoes with the chirping of birds including a
variety of migratory birds. Take a walk around the sanctuary. At
Kumarakom you can enjoy the beauty of backwaters with paddleboats, canoe
and Kayaks. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 8 Cochin
After breakfast you will be driven to Cochin and later visit the Hill
Palace, the largest archaeological museum in Kerala, sprawled over 52
acres of beautifully landscaped terraced land, which houses a deer park
and facilities for horse riding. Numerous species of flora including
rare medicinal plants are grown here. Later in the evening join the
cultural program of classical dance. Spend the night at the hotel in
Cochin.
Day 9 Cochin
Have your breakfast at the hotel and spend rest of the time at leisure.
In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the Airport / Railway
station for your journey back home with sweet memories of your dream
holiday in Kerala.
