There
are a large number of religions that are practiced in New Delhi, the
capital of India. Infact, one can say that there is hardly any religion
of India that does not find a presence in the capital city. The

Hinduism
The third largest religion in the world is present in majority in
Delhi. There are 33 million Gods and Goddess in the Hindu religion.
However, all these are considered as manifestations of one supreme god.
There are so many Hindu temples in the city that it is almost impossible
to know their exact number.
Islam
Majority of the Muslims of Delhi reside in the Old Delhi area like
Chandni Chowk, Daryaganj, etc. The city also boasts of one of the most
revered mosques in India, the Jama Masjid. Apart from that, there are a
large number of mosques and dargahs scattered through the city.
Sikhism
Founded by Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Sikhism consists of one of the major
Delhi religions. This religion preaches a single God and the brotherhood
of humanity, at the same time rejecting idol worship and caste system.
Buddhism
One can also find the followers of Lord Buddha in the capital city of
India, though their number is not very large.
Jainism
One of the oldest religions of the world, Jainism also finds a presence
in Delhi. Sri Digambar Jain Lal Mandir is one of the most famous Jain
temples in Delhi.
Christianity
The largest religion in the world, Christianity is also practiced in
Delhi.
Apart from these, Zoroastrianism, Judaism and Baha'i Faith are also
present in Delhi, though in a minority.
