Bhowali, NainitalBhowali is a small hill station that falls under the Nainital district of Uttarakahnd. It is located on the main Haldwani-Almora-Ranikhet road, at an altitude of 1706 meters. From Bhowali, one road leads to Khairna, another leads to Ramgarh and Mukteshwar, while the third goes towards Saattal, Bhimtal and Naukuchiatal. The strategic location of Bhowali has resulted in it being made the main road-junction to all the hill stations near Nainital. The place is also known for the picturesque natural splendor it abounds in.

Bhowali stands surrounded by many lakes, like Bhimtal, Sat Tal, Naukuchiyatal, Nal Damyanti Tal, Sukha Tal and Khurpa Tal, making it an ideal destination for nature lovers. The hill resort is known for its scenic grandeur. It provides breathtaking views of the Himalayas, which gives its visitors the perception of being in a dreamland. Nestled amidst the green and beautiful Himalayan ranges, Bhawali is one of the most beautiful mountain resorts in Uttarakhand. Bhawali is a major export centre for apples, apricot, plums, strawberries, peaches and pears. Its hill fruit market caters to all the adjoining areas. The hill resort also has a large food-bazaar, where one gets various varieties of Kumaon's famous bal-mithai, along with plums, pears, mangoes and berries (sprinkled with salty-sour spices). Apart from all this, there is a T.B. Sanatorium here, which was built in 1912, for people suffering from tuberculosis and other lung problems. A tourist in Bhawali should also visit the famous Golu Devta temple, Jeolikot and Ghorakhlal Sainik School, only 4 km from the place.
