Thomas Cook India will start a special service 'The Indian Maharaja' for foreign tourists and this seven night journey will cover the cities of Mumbai, Aurangabad, Udaipur, Jaipur, Agra, Ranthambore and Delhi. The journey will begin on November 18 and aims at exploring India in a snapshot. This service will focus on promoting India as a potential tourist destination.
Rakshit Desai, Executive Director-Travel Businesses, Thomas Cook (India) Ltd said that those Luxury Trains were charterers of the Deccan Odyssey, while they were the exclusive sales and distribution partners. He stated that for them it was a good move and it formed the first time when they would manage inventory operating rather than working as just pure agents.
Thomas Cook India has a strategic alliance with The Luxury Trains, which in turn is a party to contract with Maharashtra Tourism development Corporation (MTDC). Desai said that the train was about 75 per cent sold and did better than they had planned and there was nothing left to sell for the months of January, February and the Easter (April) departures. He informed that they had got some capacity to sell in November-end and December.
