The Tata Group-promoted Indian Hotels Company (IHC) has decided to take a business leap. It is planning to build 30 new Gateway Hotels across India. The brand already has 20 hotels across exotic locations in the country, under the brand name ‘The Gateway Hotel’. The plan of opening hotels will further be enhanced in smaller cities that are steadily evolving as tourist destinations.
Monica Lakhmana, Gateway Hotel's Director (Operations), explained the strategy behind the plan, saying that the plan to open hotel chain across the country has further been segregated by a target to build 13 hotels by 2012 and then further shoot up the new construction to 30 by 2015. The Gateway Hotels are a step above IHC’s economy brand ‘Ginger’ and competes with similar network of hotels at competitive prices.
Gateway Hotels segment the audience as per their needs and categorize them in zones like Stay, Hangout, Meet, Work, Workout, Unwind and Explore. It caters its guest with simplicity and is driven by passion for perfection. The cities of its operations are mostly in Southern part of India.
