Flourishing in 2750 sq. km area, SimlipalTiger Reserve and the National Park has been reopened for tourists from November 3. Evidently, the park was closed from June 16 during the monsoon season. According to officials tourists would be permitted in various phases; the initial entry would be from Jashipur side. The repair work of the road that takes to the park via Pithabata will soon be completed.
 
Initially, entry permission would be given to 24 four-wheelers into the park through Pithabata every day. Similarly, 44 four-wheelers would be allowed daily via Jashipur entry point. The park located amidst dense forests, is full of different species of flora and fauna; about 1,076 species of mammals, 29 types of reptiles and 231 species of birds are living herein.
 
Also, there would be new eatery for the tourists inside the park. The new eatery has been established by the villagers of Muktapur in collaboration with Simlipaleco-tourism society. Simlipalis located in Orissa and, is 170 km from Bhubaneswar, 240 from Kolkata, 60 km from Balasore and 22 km from Pithabata. The place is accessible through all modes of transportations. The nearest railway station is at Balasore.
