A survey, conducted by travel magazine Conde Nast Traveller, has named Jaipur as the seventh best tourist city in Asia. In the survey there were more than 32,000 Conde Nast Traveller readers who answered for the best tourist places for the year 2008 Readers Choice Survey. Jaipur has bagged 76.5 percent of the total votes to rank seventh in the survey.
Other cities that have made in top 10 list of the magazine are: Bangkok, Hong Kong, Chiang Mai, Singapore, Kyoto, Shanghai, Jaipur, Tokyo, Hanoi and Beijing. Started in 1987, the magazine specializes in luxury travel and reviews of high-priced hotels, products, and services.
The pink city of India, Jaipur is a popular tourist destination for tourists from outside India and is a must see. Historically, founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh, the ruler of Amber, Jaipur city today has a population of more than 5 million residents. Its pink stucco in imitation of sandstone makes it remarkable among pre-modern Indian cities.
