India’s leading domestic airline, GoAir recorded 84% load factor in the month of June and during the April-June quarter of this year, the budget carrier catered to over 7.8 lakh passengers, thus witnessing an increase by 52 per cent over the same period last year.
The low-cost airline that is based in Mumbai, Maharashtra operates domestic passenger services to 15 cities with 100 daily flights and approximately 700 weekly flights. GoAir with its main base in Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai flew 2.41 million passengers from April 2009-March 2010, compared to 0.95 million during the same period in 2008- 09, thereby achieving 153 per cent growth rate in passenger traffic.
