Kerala Government will be investing a total amount of Rs 600 crore in development of state’s tourism sector, this year. Tourism and Home Minister of Kerala, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said that a master plan would be formulated for the overall development of Kumarakom, a tourist village in the Kottayam district of Kerala well-known for its backwaters and houseboats. Architects of international repute would be deployed for this purpose.
Kumarakom, a home to a wide variety of flora and fauna has many breathtaking places like Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, Vembanad Lake, Aruvikkuzhi Waterfalls and many others.
