Duronto Express trains , a set of specialized rail services offered by Indian Railways (IR) like Rajdhani Express and Shatabdi Express trains will soon roll out a new Duronto Express train between Kolkata and Digha , West Bengal's most popular sea resort. The fully air-conditioned train will take only about 2 hours to reach Digha and will be a boon to both tourists and Digha’s tourism industry.
Duronto is a new concept in rapid passenger movement which came 41 years after the Rajdhani Express revolutionized train services between Delhi and major cities. The Duronto services that consist of 5 classes of accommodation namely First AC, Two-tier AC, Three-tier AC, Economy Three-tier AC and Non AC Sleeper Class are one of the fastest trains in India . Some of the destinations it currently serves include New Delhi – Lucknow, Mumbai – Nagpur, New Delhi – Allahabad, Howrah-Yeshwantpur among others.
Digha, West Bengal’s most popular sea resort known for its beaches attracts thousands of tourists every year. Other nearby attractions in Digha include Marine Aquarium and Research Centre (MARC), Lord Shiva Temple At Chandaneswar, Junput , Shankharpur , Talsari , Mandarmani and Subarnarekha River.
